Kuleana is the Hawaiian word for responsibility.  It can also mean ownership, authority, concern, and property.

In KULEANA,  Hawaiian values battle invasive culture when a girl, long presumed dead, reappears in 1971 Maui and joins forces with a reluctant warrior to battle her father, a businessman who conspires to own the water.  The childhood friends risk all to protect family in the deadly confrontation, and discover kuleana is not a burden, it's a privilege.

Writer/director Brian Kohne (GET A JOB) and producer Stefan Schaefer (ARRANGEDMY LAST DAY WITHOUT YOU)  lead an all-star cast and crew on another magical moviemaking adventure.  From MALAMA PONO PRODUCTIONS and HAWAI'I CINEMA
